I love seafood. Traveled and lived all across America, Europe, and Japan. Varney's is a total hidden gem. The service is friendly and welcoming. The place extremely cozy and welcoming. Now the star of the show is the food. We ordered baked clams, mussels, and lobster roll. I was impressed with the freshness and taste. Never judge a book by its cover. Like many other reviewers, Varney's is one of those places you want to share with everyone and hope it's only there for you. I urge you to come share this experience with this family owned restaurant. I will be back when visiting Long Island.

My wife and I really enjoy Varney's Restaurant. It's a no nonsense approach to good home cooked food. It's such a quaint place it's like eating in someone's kitchen. The food is very reasonably priced. The baked clams and mussels are especially good. Not fancy at all. Very laid back atmosphere.

The food is always good and the prices are great! This place hadn't changed and it's never going to be fancy or upscale but it's always going to be good!

Amazing Lobster Roll, so we had both the hot version and cold version, equally enjoyable. We also had Bloody Mary's! Plenty of parking, looks small from outside but plenty of seating and patio seating too. Service was perfect and quick. Inside I felt like I went back in time. Very comfortable! Outside has the most beautiful sun flowers I have ever seen.

I've been going there for years with friends who adore this little treasure of seafood!!! There Baked clams are so delicious with a glass of wine alone. Mussels Red & White & there bread to drench in the sauce is out of this world. Whole Belly Clams & Fried Oysters (when on the menu) & the Delicious Lobster Rolls Hot & Cold had them all. The Baymen Special is enough for two! Each & every one of these will make you return time after time. Should actually be 10 stars!!! Great gals wait on you hand & foot tired or not always smiling & fun to be around. Place is small cute & quaint WE just love it!!!!!

Wow what a great place for dinner! I got the Baymen special and got a ton of food for the price. The mussels were incredible and I could almost drink the sauce. My brother got the steak sandwich, and while the steak was great I wouldn't call it a sandwich. Will be coming again when in need of some good seafood!

I am obsessed with their hot lobster roll!!!! I try to get it whenever I'm in the area. Definitely the best on Long Island, hands down.

We were staying in Bellport and considered going out but as we were a big bunch, we chose to get takeout and enjoy the beach vibes. We passed Varney's while we were driving and it looked packed. We decided to grab some mussels, some lobster rolls, a shrimp cocktail and some other assorted goodies. Staff was friendly and efficient even though they were slammed. We got out take out and drove the 5 minutes back to our hotel and it was still delicious and warm. Great little seafood shack. Would go back again.

I love finding local gems when I travel and this is for sure one of those spots. I wanted some fried sea food and they didn't disappoint. Ended up starting with sea food bisque and it was great. Never had anything like it so not much to compare to, but with crackers it was pretty great. We also had wings for the table (Buffalo) and the fry was perfect. Could have been spicier but that's just my opinion. Buddy had lobster tacos, which is not a thing but he asked them and they made it happen. I got a sea food platter with cod and clams. The breading was light, good crunch and a bit of cornmeal. I really enjoyed it. Only thing I wasn't in love with was the fries. They were bland, crinkle fries from a frozen bag I'm sure. A shame when everything else was so fresh and perfect. It's very small too. So get there early or at not so busy times. Service was amazing. Super friendly, super knowledgeable and made awesome recommendations. Even the local beer I had (blue point toasted lager) went perfect with my meal. All that for $100. Not bad at all. If I'm ever back in Long Island for business, I'd come again.
